As the year is coming to an end, we thought we’d recap the interior design trends that have defined 2022, and offer inspiration for your homes to give them a new lease of life.
Here are the top 5 design highlights of 2022:
1. Dusty Pastels
We have seen this colour palette appear in many forms of design, such as full wall colours, furniture colours and soft furnishings. A great way to introduce a trend-led colour palette into your home is through accessories or furniture paint.
2. Rattan Furniture
Rattan furniture was a fast growing trend seen during 2022. With homeowners gravitating towards sustainability, and therefore design styles such as Scandinavian minimalism and Bohemian, rattan furniture fits these movements. Rattan furniture comes in many different forms, from photo frames to large pieces of furniture, rattan offers a softer and natural touch to a space.
3. Statement Lighting
Lighting trends from 2021 to 2022 have seen the development from dainty minimalism to large statement pieces. We have seen the trend in all shapes and unique styles, from a French Bulldog lamp to a bubble chandelier. This is a trend that can be personalised to each individual and adapted to your individual style.
4. Limewash
Limewash is an ancient staple dating back to Roman times, that creates a diluted effect to the walls giving a tonal variation to the paint. It is an environmentally friendly technique that adds dimension to the space and gives a natural, earthy feel to a room.
5. Sustainably Minded Purchases
We have seen consumers begin to think even more about their purchases in regards to sustainability and value for money. With the cost of living crisis ongoing, an affordable and sustainable trend has been paper maché. We have seen this material appear in various forms from light fittings to decorative vases.
