Here’s a look back at my journey through a few questions and reflections:

Q: When did you join Pat Robson & Co, and what was your first role?
A: I joined Pat Robson & Co in May 2016 as a Property Manager. At the time, I had just completed my final exam for my Estate Management BSC Hons degree at Northumbria University. I was delighted to seek employment so quickly after my studies and Pat Robson & Co felt like the perfect fit for me! Having rented through Pat Robson & Co as a student earlier in my studies, I was aware of how big of a presence the company has within in Newcastle-upon-Tyne and surrounding areas.
Q: What do you remember most about your first days at the company?
A: What stood out most was the welcoming culture and the energy of the team. Even in those early days, it was clear that collaboration and innovation were important parts of the company culture.
Q: How has the company changed over the past 10 years?
A: Over the years, I’ve seen tremendous growth in the business, technology, the team, and the opportunities available to employees. One of the biggest changes has been the advancement of technology within our systems, making daily tasks more streamlined and professional.
As someone who has personally progressed, there are evident career paths within the company. It was always very encouraging for me when I started with the company to see that various members of the team had begun in entry roles and developed into management roles.
Q: What has been one of your proudest moments?
A: One of my proudest moments was obtaining the Propertymark Rising Star Award in 2019. I was invited to the House of Lords for the award ceremony, which was certainly a once in a lifetime experience! I feel extremely grateful to work with leaders who recognise hard work and commitment, and this is something which I am always keen to carry forward with me in my own management role.

Q: What have you learned during your time here?
A: I’ve learned the importance of adaptability, teamwork, and continuous learning. Every challenge has been an opportunity to grow, both personally and professionally. In Property Management, not everything has a simple solution, and I have dealt with very complex scenarios over the years. However one thing I have learned is that there is nothing that cannot be solved!
Q: What has kept you at Pat Robson & Co for 10 years?
A: Working alongside supportive colleagues and leaders who encourage growth has made this an incredibly rewarding place to build a career. I am challenged daily which is important to me and no day is the same!

Q: How have you grown professionally over the decade?
A: Over the past 10 years, I’ve had the chance to take on new responsibilities, develop new skills, and grow into roles I never imagined when I first started. In 2018, I was promoted to Senior Property Manager. As part of my additional responsibilities I was able to delve into the marketing aspects, including orchestrating events at student fairs and sponsorships, drive company reviews to increase our online presence and create social media posts. In 2020, the Head of Property Management opportunity arose, and I have now overseen the department for 6 years.
Q: What advice would you give to someone just joining the company?
A: Be open to learning, ask questions, and take advantage of every opportunity that comes your way. The relationships you build and the experiences you gain can shape your career in meaningful ways.
Q: What are you most excited about moving forward?
A: I’m excited about what’s ahead for both the company and our teams. There’s still so much to learn, contribute, and achieve, and I’m looking forward to being part of the next chapter. Thank you to everyone who has been part of the journey so far—here’s to the future and the opportunities ahead!
